Visa Type: Immigrant Visa Type: Non-Immigrant
Experience: None Required Experience: Do not need experience but should have experience in operating a business to be successful.
Process Time: six to nine months Process Time: Depends on how quickly investors can find the business and prepare documents.
Qualified Nations: All Nations Qualified Nations: Country list can be found on Department of State website under Reciprocity by Country.
Amount of Investment: $500,000 if in a targeted high unemployment or rural area; $1,000,000 elsewhere. Amount of Investment: The amount invested varies depending on the value of the business. The lower the value of the business, the higher the percentage of the business must be invested.
Investment Territory: Territory must be approved through the Government Agency. Investment Territory: Any part of the U.S.
Residence in U.S.: Can live in anywhere in U.S. Residence in U.S.: Must live near the business location.
Business Operations: Local Enterprise manages and operates the business. Business Operations: Investor must directly operate the business.
Employment: Regional Center manages the employment process and documentation. Employment: Investor is responsible for employment hiring and documentation.
Special Requirements: Job Creation – 10 permanent, full time direct or indirect jobs much be created. Special Requirements: Profitability requirement. Business should make significant economic contribution within five years.
Visa Process: 1. Locate and qualify through Regional Center 2. Apply for I-526 and get approval 3. Apply for Visa through U.S. Consulate 4. Get your conditional green card and arrive into U.S. within six months 5. Apply for permanent green card before two years. Visa Process: Depends on business status. Investor must submit necessary documents to extend visa before each two years.
